The Cutest Halloween Snacks

Easy Halloween-inspired snacks for the family or Halloween party - exactly what you need to celebrate the spookiest night of the year!

Mummy Rice Krispies

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 1-16oz bags of marshmallows (more never hurts)
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 4 1/4 cups of rice krispies
  • Green M&Ms
  • Rolos

Instructions

  • Line an 8x8 pan with aluminum paper and grease foil (for ghosts).
  • Separate 1 cup of marshmallows and set aside.
  • Add butter to a large pot and begin to melt on medium heat, occasionally stirring until melted, it begins to turn golden and smell nutty.
  • Once melted, add marshmallows (keeping the 1 cup aside) and stir until completely melted and combined with butter.
  • Once the marshmallows are melted, add salt and vanilla and stir until combined.
  • Slowly add rice krispies, continually stirring as you add.
  • Slowly mix well until all rice krispies are coated.
  • Place mixture back to low heat and stir in the extra cup of marshmallows until partly or fully melted (whichever you prefer).
  • Pour rice krispies into greased pan and cool for at least an hour.
  • Once cooled, cut into preferred size and shape for ghosts.
  • Melt white chocolate in a deep, microwavable safe bowl, 1 minute at a time, until smooth. Dip almost the entire piece of rice krispie into white chocolate and place on a cooling rack to cool. Add googly eyes to ghosts before they completely cool.
  • Once cooled, warm extra white chocolate and place into a large ziploc bag. Cut a small piece of the corner and drizzle over rice krispies.
  • Let cool and enjoy!

Halloween Rice Krispies

Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 1-16oz bags of marshmallows (more never hurts)
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 4 1/4 cups of rice krispies
  • Green M&Ms
  • Rolos
  • Orange food coloring or red and yellow to mix

Instructions

  • Lay out parchment paper for the pumpkins to cool.
  • Add butter to a large pot and begin to melt on medium heat, occasionally stirring until melted and it begins to turn golden and smell nutty.
  • Once melted, add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and combined with butter.
  • Once the marshmallows are melted, add salt and vanilla and stir until combined.
  • Add several drops of yellow food coloring, mix it together, then add red food coloring one drop at a time, mixing as you go. Continue adding red/yellow drops until you reach your desired color. (I used about 16 drops red and 8 drops yellow) and mix well.
  • Slowly add rice krispies, stirring as you add.
  • Coat both sides of your hands with a generous amount of cooking oil or butter to avoid having your hands covered in rice krispies. Roll the rice krispie mixture into small balls and set them on parchment paper.
  • While the balls are still warm, gently press a Rolo into the top of each pumpkin for the stem and add a green M&M beside it as the leaf.
  • Let cool completely and enjoy!

Note: You can also use brown M&Ms or pretzels for the stem
