PCS Moving Checklist
On-Post Housing Checklist
- Schedule move-out day and walk thru
- Have contacts for both the current and upcoming duty stations to move in and out
- Housing applications
- Old housing clearance forms
- Return keys and garage door openers
- Schedule movers
First, decide how you're moving. We have always done a partial PPM move so we can have enough items with us when we arrive at our new duty station. I like to pack cleaning products, clothes for traveling, and enough clothes to last a while once we arrive since you never know when your items will actually arrive.
Military Move - The military packs and moves everything for you
Personally Procured Move (PPM), formally DITY - You pack and move everything
Partial PPM - They pack what the military will move and you pack what you are moving
